Management accounting is where finance stops recording the past and starts influencing decisions. This programme covers costing methods, budget construction, variance analysis and the short-term decision techniques that finance teams are expected to bring to a management meeting. Learners work with realistic budget packs and are coached on how to present a variance report to non-financial managers — a skill that materially changes how a finance function is regarded inside an organisation.
Who this course is for
- Management accountants and finance business partners
- Finance staff preparing budgets for the first time
- Departmental managers with budget responsibility
- Accountants moving into a commercial finance role

- Calculate and interpret sales, material, labour and overhead variances
- Apply break-even and contribution analysis to short-term decisions
- Present financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues
